Bismuth electrode
WebJun 1, 1985 · The reduced Bi 2 O 3 forms a bismuth matrix in the electrode and consists of needle-like deposits. The nucleation overvoltage for zinc deposition on bismuth is ≈ 20 mV. The deposits have an hexagonal morphology. The beneficial effect of bismuth appears to accrue from the conductive bismuth matrix and the maintenance of an active deposit. WebJul 1, 2024 · The value of i{sub 0} is a kinetic characteristic in an ideal equilibrium state; therefore, it is very challenging to be measured by experiments. The authors have estimated the values of i{sub 0} via Tafel and linear polarization methods (LP); however, these methods are lack of maintaining electrode surface area during the measurements.
