High compression low boost
Web15 de abr. de 2013 · Higher comp improves off boost driving and spool time but those motors really dont have issues on low comp and spooling turbos. I dont see a need to go higher than 10.5:1 for boost. 9-10:1 is fine with ls motors. So many guys running truck take outs at well over 600 whp at 9.5-10.0:1 comp just fine. E85 or racegas may like more. Web12 de ago. de 2011 · High compression is the reason 5.0's can make so much power with very little boost. You can run high compression and high boost together, but it requires fuel of the appropriate quality/octane to match as well as a really good tune and good engine internals, of course. When I build a motor, I plan on going high compression as well. …

Web8 de jul. de 2015 · Note from the curve we only ran the motor to 6,000 rpm with 18 degrees but stepped up to 6,300 rpm for the 23-degree run. The additional 5 degrees of ignition timing (from 18-23 degrees) resulted in a jump of over 50 hp at 6,000 rpm with the boost and relative power gains increasing with engine speed.
